This artwork by Cornelis Pronk achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2000. In the DUTCH, FLEMISH AND GERMAN OLD MASTER DRAWINGS auction, the work The ruined church of Keent, near Nijmegen sold for NLG 2,223.38 (€ 1,041.62) - well above the upper estimate of NLG 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cornelis Pronk achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View of the Buitenhof, The Hague, the Hofvijfer and the left part of the Binnenhof beyond in July 2018 with an auction result of GBP 10,250.00 (€ 11,492.50).
