Auction result well in line with expectations
The work View of a forest by Cornelis Kuypers was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in July 2003. The price achieved of EUR 836.50 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 700.00 – 900.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cornelis Kuypers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Roses, Peonies, Cineria, Tulips, A Great Mullein And Other Flowers In A Sculpted Vase, A Pineapple, Grapes, Peaches And Other Fruit On A Marble Ledge, With A Perch On A Fishing Rod, A Caterpillar, A Fly, A Spider And Ants in April 2013 with an auction result of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 26,551.30).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 836,50 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 700,00 – 900,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cornelis Kuypers erzielen.
