Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Cornelis Kuypers could be acquired at Christies in Amsterdam in June 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS auction, the work A farmer at work, The Veluwe changed hands for EUR 597.50 - missing the lower end of the estimate range of EUR 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cornelis Kuypers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Roses, Peonies, Cineria, Tulips, A Great Mullein And Other Flowers In A Sculpted Vase, A Pineapple, Grapes, Peaches And Other Fruit On A Marble Ledge, With A Perch On A Fishing Rod, A Caterpillar, A Fly, A Spider And Ants in April 2013 with an auction result of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 26,551.30).
