Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A birch in sunlight by Cornelis Kuypers was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in July 2003, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 1,200.00 – 1,600.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 1,195.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cornelis Kuypers achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Roses, Peonies, Cineria, Tulips, A Great Mullein And Other Flowers In A Sculpted Vase, A Pineapple, Grapes, Peaches And Other Fruit On A Marble Ledge, With A Perch On A Fishing Rod, A Caterpillar, A Fly, A Spider And Ants in April 2013 with an auction result of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 26,551.30).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A birch in sunlight von Cornelis Kuypers im Juli 2003 bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 1.200,00 – 1.600,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 1.195,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cornelis Kuypers erzielen.
