Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of Cornelia Wilhelmina Cheriex-Nicola (1814-1908) and her daughters Catharine Nicola (1839-1868) and Wynanda Nicola (1837-1921) by Cornelis Kruseman was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2012. The price achieved of EUR 12,500.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cornelis Kruseman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Savoyards et Italiennes: the musical gathering in May 2009 with an auction result of EUR 145,000.00.
