In July 2007 Christies in London held the auction Old Master and British Pictures, which included the work Apples and grapes in a porcelain bowl, a bread roll on a pewter plate, a glass of water and a jug on a wooden ledge. by Cornelis Jacobsz. Delff. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 11,400.00 (€ 16,931.63), 43% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cornelis Jacobsz. Delff - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Still Life With Apples And Other Fruit On A Tazza, Together With A Glass Of Beer, A Partly Peeled Apple, A Knife And Two Bread Rolls, which sold at auction in July 2008 for GBP 49,250.00 (€ 62,572.68).
