Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Mediterranean Harbour Scene With An Ottoman Barge And Other Boats, Figures On The Beach, A Rainbow In The Distance by Cornelis de Wael was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,806.28) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cornelis de Wael - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Troops manoeuvring in an extensive landscape, which sold at auction in July 2004 for GBP 33,460.00 (€ 50,565.42).

Die Arbeit A Mediterranean Harbour Scene With An Ottoman Barge And Other Boats, Figures On The Beach, A Rainbow In The Distance von Cornelis de Wael kam im Oktober 2011 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion.
