In July 2015 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale, which included the work The Martyrdom Of Saint Sebastian by Cornelis Cornelisz. van Haarlem. The result of GBP 25,000.00 (€ 35,441.60) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cornelis Cornelisz. van Haarlem achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hercules And Achelous in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 8,105,000.00 (€ 5,206,192.19).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juli 2015 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master & British Paintings Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Martyrdom Of Saint Sebastian von Cornelis Cornelisz. van Haarlem zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 25.000,00 (€ 35.441,60) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 25.000,00 – 35.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cornelis Cornelisz. van Haarlem erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Hercules And Achelous im April 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 8.105.000,00 (€ 5.206.192,19).
