Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Head of Bacchus by Cornelis Cornelisz. van Haarlem was sold in the Old Master & 19th Century Paintings, Drawings & Watercolors Part II auction at Christies in New York in January 2011. The price achieved of USD 12,500.00 (€ 9,114.11) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cornelis Cornelisz. van Haarlem achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hercules And Achelous in April 2008 with an auction result of USD 8,105,000.00 (€ 5,206,192.19).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
