This artwork by Cornelis Beelt achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2008. In the Old Master Pictures auction, the work A street theatre in a village with figures conversing sold for EUR 15,000.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cornelis Beelt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Departure of King Charles II From Scheveningen On The 24 May 1660, which sold at auction in May 2006 for EUR 45,600.00.

Dieses Kunstwerk von Cornelis Beelt erzielte im November 2008 bei Christies in Amsterdam einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Pictures wurde die Arbeit A street theatre in a village with figures conversing für EUR 15.000,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 6.000,00.
