Auction result misses estimated price range
In July 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Head And Shoulders Study Of A Bearded Old Man by Constantijn van Renesse for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,734.76). This price was achieved in the auction Old Master Drawings at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 7,000.00 – 9,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Constantijn van Renesse - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lot and his Daughters (Genesis 19:33), which sold at auction in January 2008 for USD 51,400.00 (€ 34,633.78).
