This artwork by Constance Frederica Gordon Cumming achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in October 2019. In the Topographical Pictures including Selections from the Kelton Collection auction, the work Shrine of Sri Pada Holy Foot on top of Adam's Peak sold for GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,799.64) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 2,500.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Constance Frederica Gordon Cumming; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Lankatilaka Temple, Sri Lanka sold at auction in October 2019 with the realized price of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,974.51).
