Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2004 Christies in London held the auction THE QUENTIN KEYNES COLLECTION, which included the work Gomera, one of the Canaries, June 4 1833 by Conrad Martens. The price achieved of GBP 956.00 (€ 858.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Conrad Martens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ausa Campbell'S Wharf in May 2009 with an auction result of AUD 576,000.00 (€ 325,921.56).
