Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cunningham's Gap by Conrad Martens was sold in the AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS auction at Christies in Melbourne in November 2002. The price achieved of AUD 2,585.00 (€ 1,457.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Conrad Martens achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ausa Campbell'S Wharf in May 2009 with an auction result of AUD 576,000.00 (€ 325,921.56).

Die Arbeit Cunningham's Gap von Conrad Martens wurde im November 2002 in der Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS bei Christies in Melbourne versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 2.585,00 (€ 1.457,77) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Conrad Martens erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ausa Campbell'S Wharf im Mai 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 576.000,00 (€ 325.921,56).
