Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Monument Valley by Conrad Buff was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in August 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,657.50 (€ 1,404.66). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Conrad Buff achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Canyon Walls, Zion National Park, Utah in April last year with an auction result of USD 16,575.00 (€ 15,730.28).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Monument Valley von Conrad Buff im August 2021 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.657,50 (€ 1.404,66) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Conrad Buff erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Canyon Walls, Zion National Park, Utah im April letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 16.575,00 (€ 15.730,28).
