Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 840.00 (€ 1,226.13) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Colin Gibson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Samson & Goliath, East Belfast, which sold at auction in May 2005 for GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,657.36).
