Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2006 Christies in London held the auction Irish Sale Part II, which included the work Farming Life, West Coast of Ireland by Colin Gibson. The price achieved of GBP 840.00 (€ 1,226.13) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Colin Gibson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Samson & Goliath, East Belfast, which sold at auction in May 2005 for GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,657.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion Irish Sale Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Farming Life, West Coast of Ireland von Colin Gibson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 840,00 (€ 1.226,13) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 700,00 – 1.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Colin Gibson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Samson & Goliath, East Belfast beobachtet, die im Mai 2005 für GBP 1.800,00 (€ 2.657,36) versteigert wurde.
