Auction result well in line with expectations
The work La Falaise D'Amont by Claude Monet was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,500,000.00 – 4,500,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,615,000.00 (€ 3,192,616.80) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claude Monet achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Meules in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 110,747,000.00 (€ 99,333,572.52).
