In February this year Bonhams held the auction Coast to Coast | Live OnlineAmerican Art, including The Collection of Gail Feingarten Oppenheimer, which included the work Self Portrait by Claude Charles Buck. The »bidding war« ended at USD 2,167.50 (€ 2,044.43), 45% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Claude Charles Buck - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Leslie in Red Blouse, which sold at auction in August 2018 for USD 8,125.00 (€ 7,006.73).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 45 % übertroffen
Im Februar diesen Jahres führte Bonhams die Auktion Coast to Coast | Live OnlineAmerican Art, including The Collection of Gail Feingarten Oppenheimer durch, in der auch die Arbeit Self Portrait von Claude Charles Buck zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 2.167,50 (€ 2.044,43) und damit 45% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Claude Charles Buck mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Leslie in Red Blouse beobachtet, die im August 2018 für USD 8.125,00 (€ 7.006,73) versteigert wurde.
