Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Autoportrait à la fenêtre, vers 1938 by Claude Cahun was sold in the Photographies auction at Christies in Paris in November 2012. The price achieved of EUR 18,750.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Claude Cahun achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Self-Observation, Aveux non avenus (planche I), 1929-1930 in October 2017 with an auction result of EUR 223,500.00.

Die Arbeit Autoportrait à la fenêtre, vers 1938 von Claude Cahun wurde im November 2012 in der Auktion Photographies bei Christies in Paris versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 18.750,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Claude Cahun erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Self-Observation, Aveux non avenus (planche I), 1929-1930 im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 223.500,00.
