In June 2002 Christies in London held the auction British Art on Paper including Original Book Illustrations, which included the work Seated female Nude by Clara Klinghoffer. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 646.25 (€ 999.60), 29% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Clara Klinghoffer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Girl With Plaits in May 2020 with an auction result of GBP 4,000.00 (€ 4,440.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 29 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion British Art on Paper including Original Book Illustrations durch, in der auch die Arbeit Seated female Nude von Clara Klinghoffer zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 646,25 (€ 999,60) und damit 29% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Clara Klinghoffer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Girl With Plaits im Mai 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.000,00 (€ 4.440,44).
