Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Danish florentine by Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg was sold in the 19th Century European Paintings auction at Sothebys in London in November 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 13,088.92) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Danish Forum Romanum Set Fra Colosseum (The Forum Romanum From The Colosseum) in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 240,500.00 (€ 305,926.51).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Danish florentine von Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg wurde im November 2012 in der Auktion 19th Century European Paintings bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 13.088,92) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Danish Forum Romanum Set Fra Colosseum (The Forum Romanum From The Colosseum) im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 240.500,00 (€ 305.926,51).
