Auction result well in line with expectations
In August last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art Online, which included the work Two oils (i-ii): by Christo Coetzee. The price achieved of GBP 2,550.00 (€ 2,950.80) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Christo Coetzee have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in May 2019 with an auction result of USD 21,325.00 (€ 19,127.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Two oils (i-ii): von Christo Coetzee zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.550,00 (€ 2.950,80) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Christo Coetzee auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 21.325,00 (€ 19.127,28).
