Auction result well in line with expectations
In October last year Bonhams in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art, which included this untitled work by Christo Coetzee. The price achieved of GBP 5,100.00 (€ 5,941.44) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Christo Coetzee - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in May 2019 for USD 21,325.00 (€ 19,127.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Christo Coetzee zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 5.100,00 (€ 5.941,44) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Christo Coetzee mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für USD 21.325,00 (€ 19.127,28) versteigert wurde.
