Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A wooded river landscape with a muleteer and two mules on a track outside a hamlet; and A wooded river landscape with fishermen in boats and travellers on a track by Christian Georg Schütz the Younger was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2007. The price achieved of EUR 4,750.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Christian Georg Schütz the Younger have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Dawn: a Rhenish river landscape with a stevedore loading a boat; and Dusk: a Rhenish river landscape with castle on a hill in April 2006 with an auction result of GBP 27,600.00 (€ 39,834.60).
