The work Les morts pour rire (la noyade) by Christian Boltanski was worth EUR 4,750.00 to a buyer in November 2021. This price was achieved in the auction 20th/21st Century: Amsterdam at Christies in Amsterdam and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of EUR 1,500.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Christian Boltanski achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Monument (Odessa) in November 2000 with an auction result of USD 138,000.00 (€ 158,730.16).
