Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters Day Sale, which included the work Still life with a pomegranate and grapes, with roses and other fruits in a basket, all on a stone ledge by Christian Berentz. The price achieved of GBP 17,640.00 (€ 20,686.56) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Christian Berentz have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Peaches and plums in a wicker basket, peaches on a silver dish and narcissi on stone plinths in May 2000 with an auction result of USD 182,000.00 (€ 195,111.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juli 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Masters Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still life with a pomegranate and grapes, with roses and other fruits in a basket, all on a stone ledge von Christian Berentz zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 17.640,00 (€ 20.686,56) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Christian Berentz auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Peaches and plums in a wicker basket, peaches on a silver dish and narcissi on stone plinths im Mai 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 182.000,00 (€ 195.111,49).
