The »bidding war« ended at GBP 73,250.00 (€ 84,065.33), 22% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Christian Berentz - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Peaches and plums in a wicker basket, peaches on a silver dish and narcissi on stone plinths, which sold at auction in May 2000 for USD 182,000.00 (€ 195,111.49).

Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 73.250,00 (€ 84.065,33) und damit 22% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Christian Berentz mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Peaches and plums in a wicker basket, peaches on a silver dish and narcissi on stone plinths beobachtet, die im Mai 2000 für USD 182.000,00 (€ 195.111,49) versteigert wurde.
