In November 2012 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale), which included the work Sailing Out for Fishing by Choi Yeong-Geol. The auction ended at the price of HKD 250,000.00 (€ 24,788.62), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Choi Yeong-Geol - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Finding Spring, which sold at auction in November 2015 for HKD 437,500.00 (€ 53,434.48).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Im November 2012 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sailing Out for Fishing von Choi Yeong-Geol zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 250.000,00 (€ 24.788,62) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 150.000,00 – 250.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Choi Yeong-Geol mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Finding Spring beobachtet, die im November 2015 für HKD 437.500,00 (€ 53.434,48) versteigert wurde.
