Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Chittrovanu Mazumdar was sold in the Indian and Southeast Asian Art including Modern and auction at Christies in New York in September 2005. It changed hands for a price of USD 38,400.00 (€ 31,846.08) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 25,000.00 – 40,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chittrovanu Mazumdar - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in May 2008 for HKD 847,500.00 (€ 69,771.69).

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Chittrovanu Mazumdar wurde im September 2005 in der Auktion Indian and Southeast Asian Art including Modern and bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 38.400,00 (€ 31.846,08) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 25.000,00 – 40.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Chittrovanu Mazumdar mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für HKD 847.500,00 (€ 69.771,69) versteigert wurde.
