engraving, circa 1570-1615, on laid paper, watermark Trimount in Shield (similar to Briquet 11936, Lucca 1583), a fine, rich impression of the first state, before Orlandi's address of 1602, with light wiping marks and plate tone in places, with wide margins, a few minor printer's creases, some surface dirt and time staining in the margins, generally in good condition

Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Cherubino Alberti achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in December 2019. In the Old Master Prints auction, the work The Virgin of the Rosary with Saint Dominic and a Monk sold for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,250.18) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cherubino Alberti achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Two Prisoners in January 2017 with an auction result of USD 65,000.00 (€ 60,218.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Cherubino Alberti erzielte im Dezember 2019 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Prints wurde die Arbeit The Virgin of the Rosary with Saint Dominic and a Monk für GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.250,18) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cherubino Alberti erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Two Prisoners im Januar 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 65.000,00 (€ 60.218,64).
