In December 2004 Christies in London held the auction OLD MASTER PICTURES & DRAWINGS, which included the work Studies of Saint John the Baptist carrying a crook, a figure holding a block and a kneeling female looking up (recto); A putto in flight (verso) by Cherubino Alberti. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,314.50 (€ 1,860.38), 64% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cherubino Alberti achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Two Prisoners in January 2017 with an auction result of USD 65,000.00 (€ 60,218.64).

Im Dezember 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion OLD MASTER PICTURES & DRAWINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Studies of Saint John the Baptist carrying a crook, a figure holding a block and a kneeling female looking up (recto); A putto in flight (verso) von Cherubino Alberti zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 1.314,50 (€ 1.860,38) und damit 64% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cherubino Alberti erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Two Prisoners im Januar 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 65.000,00 (€ 60.218,64).
