Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Running Track Boy by Cherith McKinstry was sold in the THE IRISH SALE auction at Christies in London in May 2002. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 411.25 (€ 644.02) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cherith McKinstry achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life in May 2002 with an auction result of GBP 6,572.50 (€ 10,292.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Running Track Boy von Cherith McKinstry wurde im Mai 2002 in der Auktion THE IRISH SALE bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 411,25 (€ 644,02) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cherith McKinstry erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Still Life im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.572,50 (€ 10.292,62).
