Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2002 Christies in London held the auction THE IRISH SALE, which included the work Drum by Cherith McKinstry. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 528.75 (€ 828.03) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Cherith McKinstry achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Still Life in May 2002 with an auction result of GBP 6,572.50 (€ 10,292.62).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2002 führte Christies in London die Auktion THE IRISH SALE durch, in der auch die Arbeit Drum von Cherith McKinstry zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 528,75 (€ 828,03) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Cherith McKinstry erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Still Life im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.572,50 (€ 10.292,62).
