Auction result well in line with expectations
In November this year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale, which included the work Chattering by Cheong Soo Pieng. The price achieved of HKD 2,772,000.00 (€ 325,280.53) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 2,200,000.00 – 3,500,000.00. Admittedly, works by Cheong Soo Pieng have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Nature's Inspiration in November this year with an auction result of HKD 11,507,000.00 (€ 1,350,289.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November diesen Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th/21st Century Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Chattering von Cheong Soo Pieng zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 2.772.000,00 (€ 325.280,53) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 2.200.000,00 – 3.500.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cheong Soo Pieng auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Nature's Inspiration im November diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 11.507.000,00 (€ 1.350.289,70).
