Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2014 Sothebys in New York held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy, which included the work Couplet In Seal Script by Cheng Quan. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,500.00 (€ 2,540.47) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Cheng Quan have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy In Seal Script in March 2014 with an auction result of USD 18,750.00 (€ 13,609.64).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2014 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Couplet In Seal Script von Cheng Quan zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.500,00 (€ 2.540,47) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Cheng Quan auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy In Seal Script im März 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 18.750,00 (€ 13.609,64).
