Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Couplet In Running Script by Cheng Quan was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2014. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,125.00 (€ 5,897.51), 16% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Cheng Quan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Calligraphy In Seal Script, which sold at auction in March 2014 for USD 18,750.00 (€ 13,609.64).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Couplet In Running Script von Cheng Quan wurde im März 2014 in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.125,00 (€ 5.897,51) und damit 16% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Cheng Quan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Calligraphy In Seal Script beobachtet, die im März 2014 für USD 18.750,00 (€ 13.609,64) versteigert wurde.
