A top price for Cheng Quan
This artwork by Cheng Quan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2014. In the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction, the work Calligraphy In Seal Script sold for USD 18,750.00 (€ 13,609.64) - well above the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00. This high result makes Calligraphy In Seal Script the most expensive artwork by Cheng Quan that we have observed at auctions so far.
