This artwork by Chen Wenxi achieved an unexpectedly high price at China Guardian in Hong Kong in October 2018. In the Modern Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Monkey sold for HKD 70,800.00 (€ 7,972.18) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Wenxi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Monkeys and Bees in November last year with an auction result of HKD 1,011,000.00 (€ 125,456.84).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 77 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Chen Wenxi erzielte im Oktober 2018 bei China Guardian in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Monkey für HKD 70.800,00 (€ 7.972,18) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 40.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chen Wenxi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Monkeys and Bees im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.011.000,00 (€ 125.456,84).
