From the Shum Family Collection 岑氏（1888-1970）舊藏中國書畫 LOTS 205-207 岑氏乃現藏家祖父。廣東順德人。早年於香港基督青年會修讀化學，精通粵、中、英三語。一九〇六年南下馬來西亞，進入橡膠園行業，數年內經營橡膠園達兩百公頃。一九二一年創立大馬首個集成橡膠廠，至今仍由其家族經營。 岑氏性耽藝術，喜收藏，大馬收藏家吳朝樞乃岑太内侄兼生意助手。在吳朝樞介紹下，岑氏廣交文人雅士，並獲寫贈，部分佳藏於邦瀚斯二〇一九、二〇二〇年春季陸續釋出。今再受委託，呈現新加坡藝術先驅陳文希〈封侯圖〉、〈兩隻松鼠〉、〈麻雀絨雞秋菊〉三件佳構。 陳文希生於廣東揭陽，上世紀二十至三十年代先後就讀於上海美專及新華藝專。一九四八年移居新加坡，任教於華僑中學、南洋美專。陳文希心慕北宋畫家易元吉，又受南宋牧溪之猿猴創�

The work Two Squirrels by Chen Wenxi was auctioned at Bonhams in Hong Kong in November last year. It achieved a price of HKD 70,125.00 (€ 8,701.94), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 40%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Wenxi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Monkeys and Bees in November last year with an auction result of HKD 1,011,000.00 (€ 125,456.84).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 40 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Two Squirrels von Chen Wenxi kam im November letzten Jahres bei Bonhams in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 70.125,00 (€ 8.701,94) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 40%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chen Wenxi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Monkeys and Bees im November letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.011.000,00 (€ 125.456,84).
