Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Guan Yin by Chen Shaomei was worth HKD 1,764,000.00 (€ 188,863.84) to a buyer in April 2021. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Paintings at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 500,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Chen Shaomei; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Portraits Of Great Poets sold at auction in April 2014 with the realized price of HKD 3,160,000.00 (€ 293,900.50).

Die Arbeit Guan Yin von Chen Shaomei war einem Käufer im April 2021 HKD 1.764.000,00 (€ 188.863,84) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings bei Sothebys in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 500.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Chen Shaomei; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Portraits Of Great Poets im April 2014 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 3.160.000,00 (€ 293.900,50).
