The work Calligraphy by Chen Lifu was sold in the On Wings of Song: Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy from the Collection of Robert van Gulik auction at Christies in Hong Kong in December 2020. The auction ended at the price of HKD 20,000.00 (€ 2,109.57), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 10,000.00 – 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Chen Lifu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy In Running Script in April this year with an auction result of HKD 14,400.00 (€ 14,705.22).
Zuschlag beim oberen Schätzpreis
Die Arbeit Calligraphy von Chen Lifu wurde im Dezember 2020 in der Auktion On Wings of Song: Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy from the Collection of Robert van Gulik bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 20.000,00 (€ 2.109,57) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 10.000,00 – 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chen Lifu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 14.400,00 (€ 14.705,22).
