Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2018 Sothebys in New York held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy, which included the work Calligraphy In Running Script by Chen Lifu. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 4,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,500.00 (€ 2,029.22) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Chen Lifu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy In Running Script in April this year with an auction result of HKD 14,400.00 (€ 14,705.22).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2018 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script von Chen Lifu zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.500,00 (€ 2.029,22) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chen Lifu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Script im April diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 14.400,00 (€ 14.705,22).
