Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Third Front - Old Machine Tool by Chen Jiagang was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 18,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 18,750.00 (€ 11,863.33) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chen Jiagang - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'Third Front - Shuicheng Iron & Steel Co., Ltd.', which sold at auction in October 2007 for USD 37,000.00 (€ 25,573.68).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Third Front - Old Machine Tool von Chen Jiagang kam im März 2008 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 18.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 18.750,00 (€ 11.863,33) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Chen Jiagang mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit 'Third Front - Shuicheng Iron & Steel Co., Ltd.' beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für USD 37.000,00 (€ 25.573,68) versteigert wurde.
