Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Chen Hui was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2017, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 21,250.00 (€ 2,338.81). Admittedly, works by Chen Hui have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work You & Me in May 2008 with an auction result of HKD 162,500.00 (€ 13,378.05).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Chen Hui im Oktober 2017 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 30.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 21.250,00 (€ 2.338,81) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chen Hui auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit You & Me im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 162.500,00 (€ 13.378,05).
