Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Chen Huan achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in September 2016. In the The Roy and Marilyn Papp Collection of Chinese Paintings auction, the work Mountain Retreat sold for USD 43,750.00 (€ 38,930.41) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chen Huan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Talking In The Mountain, which sold at auction in April this year for HKD 114,000.00 (€ 116,416.30).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Chen Huan erzielte im September 2016 bei Sothebys in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion The Roy and Marilyn Papp Collection of Chinese Paintings wurde die Arbeit Mountain Retreat für USD 43.750,00 (€ 38.930,41) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Chen Huan mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Talking In The Mountain beobachtet, die im April diesen Jahres für HKD 114.000,00 (€ 116.416,30) versteigert wurde.
