The work Crabs by Chen Hengke was worth HKD 1,960,000.00 (€ 185,993.82) to a buyer in October 2013. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Paintings at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 600,000.00 many times over. This high result makes Crabs the most expensive artwork by Chen Hengke that we have observed at auctions so far.
