In May 2011 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Chinese 20th Century Art (Day Sale), which included the work Mother and Children by Chen Danqing. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 3,140,000.00 (€ 280,887.59), 26% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chen Danqing - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tibetan Cowboys, which sold at auction in December 2021 for HKD 6,730,000.00 (€ 762,313.13).

Im Mai 2011 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Chinese 20th Century Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mother and Children von Chen Danqing zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 3.140.000,00 (€ 280.887,59) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Chen Danqing mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Tibetan Cowboys beobachtet, die im Dezember 2021 für HKD 6.730.000,00 (€ 762.313,13) versteigert wurde.
