The »bidding war« ended at HKD 684,400.00 (€ 73,275.74), 52% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Danqing achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tibetan Cowboys in December 2021 with an auction result of HKD 6,730,000.00 (€ 762,313.13).

Die Arbeit Lotus Shoes On A Table (Painted In 1996) von Chen Danqing wurde im April 2021 in der Auktion Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art bei China Guardian in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 684.400,00 (€ 73.275,74) und damit 52% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chen Danqing erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tibetan Cowboys im Dezember 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 6.730.000,00 (€ 762.313,13).
