Auction result misses estimated price range
In September last year a collector was able to acquire the work Sunlight on Water by Chen Chi for USD 1,211.25 (€ 1,238.12). This price was achieved in the auction American Works of Art at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts and was even below the estimate range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Chen Chi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Flying Geese in April 2021 with an auction result of HKD 302,400.00 (€ 32,376.66).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Sunlight on Water von Chen Chi für USD 1.211,25 (€ 1.238,12) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Works of Art bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Chen Chi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Flying Geese im April 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 302.400,00 (€ 32.376,66).
